QR ordering for restaurants and bars in Zimbabwe: how it works
With QR ordering, each table has its own printed code. A guest scans it with their phone camera, sees your live menu, orders, and can pay, without installing anything. The order goes straight to the kitchen or bar with the table number attached. Your team spends less time walking orders and bills, and more time looking after guests.
Why restaurants move to it
On a busy night the limit is rarely the kitchen. It is how many trips staff can make: to take the order, to bring the bill, to fetch the card machine. Orders get misheard, items get missed off bills, and tables wait. QR ordering removes the trips that add nothing.
What the guest sees
A menu in their own browser, with photos, prices in the currencies you accept, and options such as sides or how a steak is cooked. Items that are sold out disappear. Add-ons and the day's specials appear at the moment of ordering. They can order more rounds without waving anyone down, and pay when they are ready.
What your team sees
Orders arrive on a kitchen or bar screen, or printed, already tagged with the table and the time. Waiters are alerted when food is ready or a table needs help. At close of business, sales, payments and tips reconcile without anyone counting slips.
Menus you can change without reprinting
Prices, items and specials are changed once and every table sees it immediately. No reprinting, no out-of-date menu on the table.
Keeping the personal touch
QR ordering does not have to remove the waiter. Many venues use it for repeat rounds and payment, while staff still greet guests, recommend dishes and take the first order. It is a tool for the team, not a replacement.
Questions buyers ask
Do guests need to download an app?
No. The menu opens in the phone's browser.
What if a guest does not have a smartphone?
Staff take the order as usual and enter it on the same system, so everything still reaches the kitchen in one place.
Can it take payment in USD and ZiG?
Yes, through the payment methods you already accept.
Does it connect to our stock and accounts?
It can. Sales can feed stock counts and reporting, so the floor and the back office agree.
